Young Girl Struck by Car on Christmas Day

Jaylene Aguirre is currently hospitalized and in critical condition after she was struck by a car on Christmas Day.
Jaylene and her boyfriend were out riding his new minibike in their Hemet neighborhood around 9:00pm when a driver struck the both of them and drove away. The boyfriend, whose name has not been released, suffered minimal injuries, and was treated on the scene.
As reported by her father, Frank Aguirre, Jaylene suffered lacerations all over her body, multiple broken bones, and internal bleeding in her head. She was airlifted to Loma Linda Hospital, where she remains in critical condition and has not yet regained consciousness.
According to Officer Tabor of the Hemet Police Department, the driver that hit them is still at large. He is suspected to be driving a gray Toyota with front-end damage. Though they have not ruled it out, the police are not aware of any evidence that supports drinking was involved in the accident. The police are asking anyone with information to call Officer Tabor at (951) 765 – 2400.
When Hit and Runs Do Damage
Jaylene’s father has started a GoFundMe page asking for donations to help with his daughter’s hospital bills, but he shouldn’t have to do that.
Hit and run victims shouldn’t be responsible for paying their own hospital bills, and they should be fairly compensated for their losses, pain, and suffering.
