Two Ellis Law Attorneys Chosen for “Top 40 Under 40” Honors
Ellis Law Corporation is pleased to announce that two of its brightest stars – Britt Karp and Justina Ramon – have been selected to be included in the prestigious National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 under 40 group.
The Top 40 under 40 is a professional organization made up of the top trial lawyers from each state or region who are under the age of 40. Membership into the exclusive group is by invitation only, and is extended only to trial lawyers practicing civil plaintiff and/or criminal defense law.
Ms. Ramon has represented clients in various cases, including personal injury, product liability and labor/employment matters. She also specializes in complex cases with catastrophic injuries. She has handled numerous trials and arbitrations, and practices in both state and federal courts.
She graduated from Scripps College in 2002 and Loyola Law School in 2005. Ms. Ramon was admitted to practice law in California in 2005. She is currently a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles. Prior to joining the firm, she practiced law for four years with Calendo, Puckett, Sheedy and DiCorrado and served as a law clerk to California Superior Court Judge Socrates P. Manoukian in Santa Clara County.
Ms. Karp has extensive experience representing clients in many areas of law, including personal injury and litigation, and specializes in complex cases with catastrophic injuries. She practices in both state and federal courts.
A 2009 cum laude graduate from Occidental College, she also participated in Southwestern Law School’s two-year accelerated J.D. program in 2011, where she was selected as a member of the Moot Court Honors Program. Ms. Karp participated in the National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition, and was awarded first place for the brief she prepared for her team, edging out some of the top law schools in the country.
Top 40 Under 40
The National Trial Lawyers’ selection committee extends membership to only the most qualified attorneys from each state “who demonstrate superior qualifications of leadership, reputation, influence, stature and public profile measured by objective and uniformly applied standards in compliance with state bar and national Rule 4-7. Invitees must exemplify superior qualifications, trial results, and leadership as a young lawyer under the age of 40.”
Selection is based on an extensive, objective process which includes nominations from colleagues combined with third-party research.
Each of the distinguished Top 40 under 40 members strives to exemplify the knowledge, skill, experience and success achieved by only the best lawyers in the United States. The National Trial Lawyers’ mission is to promote a unique, professional networking environment for up-and-coming lawyers, while developing innovative ideas to pursue justice for those parties injured by others’ negligence.
In addition, the organization works to educate the public about the importance of access to a court system that’s free of bias and undue influence, and to protect the right of trial by jury.
Congratulations to Britt and Justina on this stellar accomplishment!
