Rollerblade Forced to Recall Popular Inline Skate Model

On February 25, 2014, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall for roughly 11,800 pairs of Rollerblade’s Tempest Skate line, models 90 and 100, for both men and women. The mounting holes in the boot and frame may be misaligned, and Rollerblade has acknowledged that this defect in the skates may cause the boot to separate from the frame, potentially causing users to fall and incur injury.
Since the Tempest Skate line is designed for high performance racing and training, a fall under those circumstances would be catastrophic.
The Ellis Law firm, a team of renowned Los Angeles product liability lawyers, works diligently for consumers who have suffered injuries due to a defective product to be fully compensated for their losses. These damages may include:
- Past, present, and future medical bills
- Lost income
- Reduced earning capacity
- Pain and suffering
- Emotional distress
More than 17 million Americans enjoy the sport of inline skating, but according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, more than 61,000 people were treated for inline skating-related injuries in a recent 12-month period. Many of these injuries could have been avoided by following simple safety precautions.
But what if you have followed all the safety rules and are injured by a defect in the skates themselves? Where do you turn?
Leading LA personal injury attorneys
The manufacturer has a responsibility to design, assemble, and distribute products that are safe for their intended purpose. However, injuries can often be traced back to poor manufacturing or inherent design flaws as seen in the Rollerblade recall.
Personal injury cases are notoriously complex, and suffering an injury, even a serious one, doesn’t always entitle a victim to compensation. Victims must prove that their pain and suffering was a direct result of the negligence of another party, so they need the expertise and resources of a firm that can build an airtight case.
As leading Los Angeles product liability lawyers, Ellis Law offers unparalleled legal counsel to those who’ve suffered harm from recalled products.
