The Honest Company announced a voluntary recall of its organic baby due to possible contamination that was found during routine testing.  All lots of the product are being recalled; the microorganisms found in testing results may cause eye and skin infections.  The company has posted additional information on their website stating that no other products are impacted by this recall.  Customers are asked to return the affected products for a full refund.

Earlier this year, additional claims were made against the Honest Company’s regarding their detergent ingredients.  The company has also been under fire from customers complaining their SPF 30 sunscreen does not work.  Reports say the company changed its formula in 2015 lowering the percentage of zinc oxide to 9.3% and adding other ingredients maintain effectiveness.  The FDA requires sunscreen products to use up to 25% of zinc oxide.  The company maintains that the product is safe when used as directed and the testing was performed by an independent third party.
