Gardena Crash Leaves One Person Dead

At least two vehicles were involved in a car accident on the morning of Thursday, September 24, 2020. It occurred on the southbound 405 Freeway just north of Normandie Avenue in Gardena.

California Highway Patrol Officer Nicholson reported from the scene, saying that the crash that happened around 3:38 am Thursday morning led to one of the cars flipping and caused the other yet unreported damage.

The exact cause of the crash is still not determined but is under investigation.

Officer Nicholson also stated that all southbound lanes on the 405 Freeway at Normandie have been shut down so the CHP could investigate the crash.

He did not say how long the closure would last.

One Victim Dead on the Scene

Unfortunately, the cars were not the only victims of the crash. Four people were taken to the hospital after the accident, each one in varying conditions. Sadly, one person was pronounced dead at the crash site.

The CHP has not yet released the name, gender, or age of any of the victims, including the fatality.
