Morning traffic was stalled today when a distracted driver rear ended another vehicle causing a backup far into downtown Redding, according to California Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred before 8 am on the westbound 44 near Auditorium Drive.  Reports say that the driver of a black Ford Explorer was reaching for a drink and rear-ended a silver GMC SUV during rush hour traffic.  No one was injured in the crash, although both vehicles sustained  damage.  A third car was also involved.  California Department of Transportation workers were called in to remove debris from the area; tow trucks were necessary to remove the vehicles.

A simple rear-end collision can cause significant damage . More serious accidents may result in expenses and lifestyle changes that can destroy the foundation of a family.  In the state of California, motor vehicle laws are on the side of victims, and you may be entitled to monetary compensation to help manage your recovery period until you can get back on your feet.  A Los Angeles car accident attorney at Ellis Law can help you use these laws to greatest effect.  Call for a no cost confidential consultation at 310-641-3335.
