Andrew Ellis Earns Prestigious 2018 Super Lawyers® Honor

Super Lawyers® nominating process

All candidates undergo a rigorous, four-step nominating process:

1. First, a lawyer must be nominated by a peer or colleague who is from the same state and who has personally observed the attorney in action. From there, the attorney-led research team examines the nominee’s credentials, professional competence, certifications, and honors.
2. Next, the research department evaluates each lawyer based on verdicts and settlements, transactions, representative clients, experience, honors and awards, special licenses or certificates, ranking within the law firm, bar experience, pro bono and community service work, scholarly lectures and articles, educational background, and outstanding achievements.
3. Thirdly, there is “the blue ribbon review” — a peer evaluation by practice area. Candidates in each practice area with the highest points accumulated thus far rate other candidates from their practice areas on a scale of 1-5.
4. In the final selection process, those with the highest points from each category are selected, regardless of what size law firm they come from. Before publishing, each candidate’s standing with the local licensing authority is verified. Internet searches are performed to ensure there are no pressing issues tarnishing a candidate’s reputation. Each lawyer is contacted to verify the accuracy of the information set to be published.
